Charting a clear path to your ideal future.

There's so much more to your story than dollars and cents.

Life's important decisions aren't made using an algorithm.

Our Process

We believe that your financial story goes way beyond numbers. Every aspect of your life connects back to your experiences and to the history that led you to where you are today.

Our approach explores every facet of your financial well-being and we help you map out what the future holds. We then partner together to prepare you for all of the important transitions on your horizon, whether that be retirement, selling your business, or a second career.

However, wealth management is not a “set it and forget it” endeavor. That’s not what you hire a professional advisor for. Instead, our process is built upon proactive communication, regular meetings, and ongoing collaboration.

Year 1

As a new client, you can expect 3 to 5 meetings in the first year, depending upon the complexity of your situation and your top financial priorities.  Recognizing that many of our clients are busy and time-constrained, we adjust the pace as needed to match your life.

Discovery & Aspirations
At the beginning, we’re much less interested in the numbers and much more curious about you, your family, and your life.

How did you get to where you are today? What does the future look like if everything goes right? What’s worked well up to now? What hasn’t gone so well?

Portfolio Design
Designing the right portfolio for you depends on much more than a simple questionnaire or selecting an ‘off-the-shelf’ model.

Our process is designed to evaluate your unique ability, willingness, and need to take risk, as well as your tax profile, withdrawal needs, and specific objectives and goals.

The end result is a custom-tailored portfolio that aligns with your overall wealth management plan.

Initial Financial Plan Review
Once we have clarity on where you are today and where you’d like to go in the future, we then get to work on developing your initial financial plan.

The goal of the initial plan is to provide an objective review of your retirement outlook and set a baseline for us to compare each possible strategy and recommendation.

After exploring one or more scenarios, we then develop a financial action plan with specific recommendations to help improve your probability of success and maximize the opportunities for the life you want to live.

Year 2+

After our first 12 months of working together, we typically schedule 2 to 3 meetings annually each year going forward.  Every meeting is structured around a specific area of your wealth management plan.  However, the actual agenda is always customized to address any real-time decisions that you’re facing or other timely topics.  Outside of scheduled meetings we’re also available for on-demand advice as life changes or questions arise.

Annual Review
Your annual review usually takes place in the first quarter of the new year. This meeting focuses on your long-term plan, goals and objectives for the year-ahead, savings and spending targets, and tracking your progress.

We may also cover insurance/risk management, estate planning, taxes, or other topics during this meeting, depending on your needs.

Mid-Year
During the summer, we find that most clients are busy with travel, family, or other demands. Recognizing this, our client portal shares an on-going lists of tasks that can be tackled at your convenience. We also send out deliverables that can be reviewed as your time allows.
Mid-Year
Semi-Annual Review
Your semi-annual review centers on year-end tax planning and employee benefits or other insurance enrollment decisions. Since these are calendar-driven topics, we try to schedule this meeting during the third or fourth quarter of each year.
