Who We Are
Wealth Engineers is a fee-only, independent Registered Investment Advisor (RIA) serving clients all across the country.
Our Wealth Management approach leans on the conclusions of Nobel Prize winning investment research paired with client-focused financial planning. We help our clients develop a clear path to achieve their financial goals so they can focus on enjoying the journey instead of worrying about the destination.

Jonathan K. Duong, CFA, CFP® is the Founder and President of Wealth Engineers. Jonathan founded Wealth Engineers to provide an alternative to the high costs and conflicts of interest of a typical financial advisor.
Prior to founding Wealth Engineers, Jonathan served as director of investments for a Denver-area multi-family office and wealth management firm. He was responsible for managing over $85 million in client assets on a discretionary basis and advised on more than $350 million in non-discretionary retirement plan assets.
Jonathan’s previous experience includes several positions with Ernst & Young’s Transaction Advisory Services group in Los Angeles. His experience includes advising corporate and high net worth private clients on complex investment, strategic, tax, and planning issues.
Jonathan received his Bachelor of Science in Business Administration, with a dual concentration in Financial Management and Accounting, from Cal Poly. He is a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA®) and a member of the CFA Society of Colorado. Jonathan is also a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ (CFP®) professional.
In his free time, Jonathan is working with his wife, Alicia on DIY house projects, running after their two boys, and getting outside as much as possible. He enjoys finding hidden restaurant gems when traveling and his last meal would include a fresh, homemade cinnamon roll the size of a dinner plate. Jonathan is also a life-long Minnesota Vikings fan, and wants just one Super Bowl championship in his lifetime. Skol!
Alicia Duong focuses on Client Service at Wealth Engineers. Her primary goal is to provide exceptional service to each of our clients while also handling many of the business and operational elements of the firm.
Alicia received her Bachelor of Science in Software Engineering from Cal Poly. She worked as a software engineer at Raytheon Company for over a decade before transitioning her focus to their young family. While software development is no longer part of her day-to-day, finding ways to incorporate technology platforms into the firm to provide a higher level of client service has been one of her areas of focus.
When Alicia is not working with Jonathan, she is focusing on their two sons, cooking enough food to feed a small army, and researching the next big project on the horizon. She enjoys volunteering with multiple organizations that focus on motherhood and family life. Alicia has also been brought into the fold of Minnesota football and also wants Jonathan to have one (just one!) championship to celebrate.

Wealth Engineers is an independent Registered Investment Advisor (RIA). We are not owned by or associated with any Wall Street bank, wirehouse, or insurance company.
Fiduciary Advice
As an RIA, we are required by law to adhere to a fiduciary standard of care when serving our clients. This means that just like your doctor or your lawyer we must always put your interests ahead of our own.
Fair Fees
Typical advisor fees plus annual expenses for a traditional mutual fund portfolio can add up to a 2% fee which can reduce the growth potential by up to 40% over a 30-year period. Our advisory fee and cost-efficient approach can reduce total fees by up to 70%, helping you keep more of the returns you deserve.
No Commissions
Unlike most other so-called “advisors” (who are in fact sales people), we generate 100% of our revenue directly our professional service fees. We don’t sell mutual funds, insurance, annuities, or other financial products, nor do we generate referral fees for our recommendations.

Our firm does not experiment with our clients’ financial decisions. Every decision we make is based on extensive evidence and research from a wide range of academic and industry sources.
We Are Not Sales People
- 100% of our revenue comes directly from the advisory & planning services that our clients hire us to provide.
- We do not sell any financial products or insurance, nor do we receive referral fees of any kind for recommending specific funds or investments.
- As a fiduciary, we are required by law to put our clients' interest first. The advice we provide will always be in your best interest.
- Fees are always transparent and straightforward so that a client knows exactly what they are paying.
